The Stanley twins, F.E. and F.O. produced in 1897 in Newton, Mass., more than 200 Stanley Light Steam Cars. The 8 hp model was capable to speed up to 27 mph / 43 kmh and did sell for $ 750,00. The gentlemen A. L. Barber and J. B. Walker purchased in 1898 the manufacturing rights to the vehicle for $ 250.000. 1908 the Stanley Speedy Roadster was capable of 60 mph / 96 kmh and would run over 50m / 80 Km on a filling water. Till 1927 thousands of Stanley were built.
