This nostalgic lorry with remote control is a scaled model of a lorry series which dates from 1915. At that time the transport of goods with such vehicles was more easygoing and had nothing to do with today’s just-in-time-deliveries. This historical platform lorry is equipped with a real functioning steam engine. The boiler and the double acting cylinder are placed in the driver’s cab. The roof of the cab can be removed to fill the upright boiler with water. The burner slide is located between the wheels of the front axle. The steering mechanism with remote control is placed on the bottom of the lorry. The wooden platform can be discharged manually.

This Wilesco D 430 locomobile was used around the turn of the century by farmers for threshing and plowing. it was horse drawn but was also frequently self propelled and was capable of moving under its own steam at speeds of 1.5 to 2.5 miles per hour. This sophisticated steam model has a wealth of technical details and it looks good too in its livery of black combined with brass. Technical details: Brass boiler diameter 2.2", length 9.1". This engine has a partitioned smoke chamber at the front for the condensation and to allow the smoke to escape through the chimney, which is hinged in the middle. The sight glass acts as a water gauge. Reversible double action cylinder with two flywheels with a diameter of 3.2" which can be operated in forward and reverse. Exact indicating pressure gauge, spring loaded safety valve, whistle with chain, governor (just for show), steam regulator, steam jet oiler, water drain tap, black varnished boiler house with gangways and ladder. The Wilesco locomobile is driven by a chain and the front axle can be steered. Operating time approx. 15 minutes. The model is heated by dry spirit tablets. All parts are either painted or plated. Length 10.2", width 5.9", Height 8.3".

Smoke box and Chimney - Machined of steel tube and fabricated with separate chimney designed to give maximum pull for the fire.

Crankshaft unit - Machined in one piece steel (5/16" diameter journal), with brass bearings, cams and con rod. Stephenson Link Valve Gear in Steel with Brass activating rods.

Engine- Cylinder Block, 5/8" Dia Bore X 1" Stroke, is machined from Naval Brass in one piece, the bore and ports jig milled in suit.
