This is the smallest and the latest Steam Engines in the Wilesco range with a mirror polished brass boiler, diameter 45 mm, length 90 mm and a boiler capacity
50 cm³. The base plate and the boiler housing are made of printed sheet steel.
The showing glasses are at the same time the water gauge glasses. Boiler with spring loaded safety valve, oscillating cylinder and piston, flywheel of 35 mm diameter and grooved pulley. (Don't forget the Esbit fuel and the Steam Oil)

Wilesco D 18 steam engine with a blueish base plate that has been combined with a black boiler housing and silver-colored engine plate. The flywheel is painted black. The technology of this engine represents a combination of Wilesco types D 20 and D 16, enhanced by a number of technical refinements. The brass boiler, highly polished and nickel plated, has a capacity of 30.5 in. The condensed water is fed to a tank hidden behind the boiler house, causing the chimney to smoke realistically. Wilesco steam engines have gone into the new millennium with a T 90 Steam Turbine.
They are the successors of the traditional steam engines and replaced it more and more during the last decades. Turbines are used today in the aeronautics as well as in power stations. The first model of this range is mounted on a light-colored and printed base plate. A graph shows the course of the torque dependent on the speed and a manometer shows the pressure in the nickel plated boiler. Esbit fuel tablets differ from most other solid fuel tablets in that they are non-toxic and completely consume themselves when burned. Most other fuel tablets leave a toxic residue behind. The manufacturer states that Esbit fuel tabs can be safely burned inside a properly ventilated room. They are very small and extremely light weight. They burn for about 15 minutes and are a great toy steam engine fuel.

Sold by the box. One box contains 20 tablets 4 grams each. Shown in picture is one CASE of esbit which contains 36 boxes.
