In 1902, VOYAGE TO THE MOON (VOYAGE DANS LA LUNE) was the big screen's first science fiction story in which a group of explorers go to the moon. Only 14 minutes in length, the silent sci-fi film fantasy by French film pioneer George Melies became a classic, appealing to scientists and adventurers alike.
